This recipe is great for breakfast, lunch or as hangry snack. It does come out the smoothest if you use a high power blender, but still worthy with a regular blender. Add the liquids first, all the other ingredients, blend and enjoy!
How to Create the Perfect Smoothie
- Protein Powder (No Soy please!)
- ¼ cup Coconut milk (full fat – fom the can – recommended: Native Forrest Organic Unsweetened)
- Generous handful of greens (baby kale or spinach are best)
- ¼ cup berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
- ½ small or 1/3 large zucchini (you won’t even taste it!)
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds (cha cha cha chia – yes they’re really good for you!)
- 1 Tbsp flax seeds (freshly ground is best but not essential. If already ground, please store in the fridge or freezer)
- Healthy Fats – Add 1 Tbsp of almond butter, coconut butter, pumpkin seed butter or sunflower butter (read the ingredients to avoid added sugars. Look for simple ingredients, like just the nut or seed)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil (great for a smooth consistency. Which olive oil is best? Click here )
- Liquid Stevia to sweeten *optional
- Add water to your desired consistency
Optional: Add a few Superfoods: Goji berries…Raw cacao (yummy chocolate that’s good for you!)…Bee pollen
